This course is open to all sexuality professionals. It is required for those completing the EDST Sex Therapy Certification.

Working as a sex therapist requires a unique set of personal and professional skills - including identifying and mitigating countertransference, managing triggers, and holding space for the array of sexual values, beliefs, and worldviews that show up in the therapeutic space. (To name a few!)

Using intersectional and intrasectional lenses, Navigating Differing Sexual Values, Beliefs, & Practices is designed to equip attendees with tools for navigating opposing values - both client-to-client and client-to-therapist - and how to handle the resulting friction and discomfort. This workshop will also help attendees get even clearer about the ways their core values, social position(s), and proximal power inform their work.

This course meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT) and is approved for 2 CE credits. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Completion of this program does not ensure or guarantee AASECT certification.
